There’s nothing quite like waking up at 5:30 in the morning to an empty apartment and having to evacuate because apparently your building is on fire….

Reminds me of the time at the Humber residence when some drunk guy pulled the fire alarm at 6am and like 2,000 hungover/still drunk college kids shuffled out into the snow and had to wait for 20 minutes to get back in. AAAAH memories!

Wow, that sounds pretty shitty, but in my case, I woke up to a completely empty apartment (My roommates originally barged into my room to wake me, but when I sleep, I squish myself to the wall and hide under all my blankets, to them, it looked like no one was there, so they thought I had already left) With a loud alarm, a light smell of burning, and smoke in the halls. I ran outside, panicking slightly, wearing my sleep shorts and a tank-top, with a very thin cardigan over top, in the FREEZING cold. One of the fire-fighters saw me shivering away, and I must have looked pretty pathetic because he wrapped me in a large blanket (nicest thing, by far, to have happened today) and then a little later, an empty bus was brought in to keep everyone warm while we waiting.

We ended up waiting over an hour in the cold for the building to be cleared, and I couldn’t reach any of my roommates at all.

Overall, it was just a horrible way to start the day :(
